Tire Replacement
To determine if it's time to replace your tires, you can either check their tread depth yourself or have a professional inspection. Using a tire tread gauge is a straightforward method for assessing tread wear. Remember that tires can wear unevenly, especially on the inner edges, which are not always visible. Therefore, it’s important to check multiple areas of each tire.
In the United States, safety guidelines require that tire tread be at least 2/32" deep. If your tires are below this depth or close to it, they should be replaced. Additionally, look for any sidewall damage or unusual wear patterns. Irregular wear may result from issues such as improper alignment, overinflation, underinflation, or worn suspension components. Bringing the vehicle to our shop where it will be lifted allows the mechanic to view the tire completely as there may be damage that is not normally visible. Regular visual inspections of your tires are crucial, as they play a key role in your vehicle's safety and performance.
